📼 Boombox

The Boombox is a placeable block that streams audio from YouTube directly into the world. Paste a link, hit play, and any nearby player with the mod installed will hear it with proper distance-based audio.

Getting One

Craft a Boombox at a crafting table, then place it wherever you want the sound to come from. The full recipe is on the Crafting Recipes page.

Using It

Right-click the placed Boombox to open its interface, then paste any YouTube URL. Both single videos and full playlists work. Once it starts, the audio streams from that block's location.

Controls

  • Volume: per-block, so you can have several Boomboxes at different levels without them fighting each other.
  • Audible Range: sets how far the audio reaches.
  • Pause & Resume: holds your spot in the track.
  • Seek: jumps to any point in the current video.
  • Playlist Controls: skip forward, skip back, and loop when you're playing a playlist.

Multiplayer

The Boombox works on any server. The YouTube audio streams locally on each nearby player's client, so the server itself isn't downloading or hosting anything. Only players who have Soundscape installed will hear it.

⚠️ Playback Issues

YouTube signature error

If you see playback failed (YouTube signature error - try a different link) in the Boombox interface, YouTube's API is blocking the Lavaplayer request (the library that pulls the audio) from reaching the video. There's no fix we can push. Playback will start working again once Lavaplayer releases an update. Unfortunate, but nothing we can do until then.
