Obtaining Obsidian Ingots​

Obsidian Ingots are obtained by blasting Obsidian in a Blast Furnace.

Crafting​

All tools and armor follow standard vanilla crafting recipes, using Obsidian Ingots in place of the material (and sticks for tool handles). If you know how to craft Diamond gear, you know how to craft Obsidian gear.

Horse Armor​

Obsidian Horse Armor cannot be crafted — it can only be found as rare loot in a Nether Fortress, as Bastion Treasure, and Ruined Portal chests (18% chance).

Spear (1.21.11+)​

The Obsidian Spear is crafted with the standard diagonal spear recipe using Obsidian Ingots. It sits between Diamond and Netherite in charge damage, knockback, and swing speed.

Nautilus Armor (1.21.11+)​

Obsidian Nautilus Armor is rare loot found in Shipwreck Supply chests, Ocean Ruin chests, and Buried Treasure. It provides 15 body armor points (Diamond: 11, Netherite: 19).

Obsidian Nautilus Armor replaces Diamond as the base for upgrading to Netherite Nautilus Armor at the Smithing Table. It can also be smelted down into an Obsidian Ingot.
