Homestead 2.0 Update

Hey everyone! Big info drop about the 2.0 update. Please read the whole thing, especially the first part, so nobody loses anything.

Quick note: this is the Homestead 2.0 update to the pack you already play. There is no separate "Homestead 2" pack.

⚠️ READ THIS FIRST: STORAGE MODS ARE BEING REMOVED ⚠️​

Storage Drawers and Iron Chests: Restocked are being removed in 2.0. They've been causing lag, disappearing items, and in some cases straight up bricking worlds. We also already have Sophisticated Storage in the pack, which does everything they do and more.

If you have items in ANY storage blocks from those two mods, you MUST move them into Sophisticated Storage BEFORE you update. If you update and load into your world without doing this, every item inside those blocks will be gone forever. There is no getting them back.

So start moving your stuff now and you'll be ready when it drops.

If you want to keep using those mods, that's fine too. Update the pack when 2.0 drops, add the mod(s) back into your pack, THEN load into your world. Your blocks and items will stay safe.

If all your storage is already Sophisticated Storage, you're good. You don't need to do anything.

Eldritch End is also being removed​

Eldritch End is getting removed because it's very laggy and won't be supported by the pack anymore. Once you update, all items and blocks from it will be removed from your world, armor and gear included.

If you have any Eldritch End gear, take the enchantments off it and don't use it as your main set.

That's it for game breaking changes​

The three mods above are the only game breaking changes in 2.0. Everything else is safe to update into.

Do I need a new world?​

Nope. But we HIGHLY recommend it. A ton of biome and world gen mods were added or updated, and the world looks SO much better now. If you're not too attached to your current world, starting fresh is the best way to see all of it.

If you want to keep your world, that's totally fine. Any new chunks you explore will still generate with the new terrain and biomes.

When is it coming out?​

No exact date yet. I've been working on this update for the past 4 to 5 months and still finishing it up, but it WILL release in OCTOBER. A couple days before it drops, we'll put out a trailer/video going over every change.

And there are a LOT. Tons of new stuff, changes, and bug fixes that you guys have been asking for for a really long time are finally here. I am so excited for you all to see it.

The last content update for Homestead​

2.0 is the final content update for Homestead. After this, no more mods or content will be added or removed.

Homestead is not being abandoned. We'll still push out bug fixes and hotfixes whenever issues come up.

The reason is we want to put our full attention into the new pack we've been working on for the past 7 months. It's still super early and bare bones, and it'll be in development for at least another 6 to 9 months, so don't expect it anytime soon. More news on it later this year or sometime next year. Until then, Homestead is still our main pack.

But yes, CozyStudios is bringing you a brand new experience next year.

TL;DR​

  • 2.0 is an update to Homestead. There is no new "Homestead 2" pack.
  • Move items out of Storage Drawers and Iron Chests: Restocked into Sophisticated Storage BEFORE updating, or they're gone forever.
  • Eldritch End is removed, take your enchants off that gear.
  • New world is recommended, not required.
  • Releasing in October, trailer a couple days before.
  • Last content update, bug fixes and hotfixes will still come.
