This page covers known issues related to controls, keybindings, and input conflicts in the Homestead modpack.

Cannot Mine While Holding Shift or Control​

Issue​

You're unable to mine blocks while holding the Shift or Control key. The game doesn't register your left-click or right-click inputs when these modifier keys are pressed. Additionally, actions may continue even after you release the mouse button (e.g., mining continues on its own).

Cause​

Some mods in the pack add keybinds that use modifier key combinations (Shift, Control, or Alt + mouse buttons). These can conflict with normal gameplay actions like mining and placing blocks.

Solution​

  1. Open Options → Controls → Key Binds

  2. Search for keybinds that include modifier key combinations:

    • S + Left Button (Shift + Left Click)
    • S + Right Button (Shift + Right Click)
    • C + Left Button (Control + Left Click)
    • C + Right Button (Control + Right Click)
    • A + Left Button (Alt + Left Click)
    • A + Right Button (Alt + Right Click)

  3. Unbind each of these keybinds by:

    • Clicking on the keybind
    • Pressing Escape or clicking the "Reset" button to clear it

  4. Save your settings and return to the game

After unbinding these conflicting keybinds, you should be able to mine and interact normally while holding modifier keys.
